Dear Summer #2- Oxfords

Dear Summer is a series of fashion inspired posts. I am, by no stretch of the imagination, a fashionista. I do, however, have very distinct, and usually non-trendy taste.

Today I want to highlight the Oxford. Classic, yet sophisticated. Oxfords come in a variety of colors and patterns. There are heels and there are flats.

The Oxford is typically looked at as a winter or fall shoe. I wanted to highlight some inspiration for those of you who, like me, look for ways to wear all garments year round.

Oxfords can be dressy and they can be casual too.
Graphic Tee

Stuck trying to figure out how to wear Oxfords? Start with basic apparel. A simple white or graphic tee is a great start to any outfit.

Denim Overalls

Need a way to make it casual? Try pairing denim jeans, a denim skirt, overalls or shorts with your Oxfords.

Yellow Patterned Skirt

Want to dress things up a bit? Experiment with patterns. Try wearing a patterned skirt or dress with a basic tee or tank. This will take a casual day fit to a fun eventful look.

I am Tasha and I am the Founder of Naturally Smitten. I have been natural since 2007. I didn’t transition for very long because I was very excited about becoming natural. I BC’d after transitioning for only four months. My 4a/4b (mostly 4b) hair is very thick and coily. It takes a lot to retain moisture. My hair also loves to tangle and knot up! I have had a difficult time finding the “right” product for my hair. Many of the products that I have tried, didn’t leave me with enough moisture. I decided to create a moisturizer that would hydrate and moisturize coarsely textured hair. I want to educate women on how to care for their natural hair and how to maintain healthy length. Follow us at Naturally Smitten as we embark on our journey of loving our natural hair and embracing every coil. Live, learn + love your natural hair!
